The EMBA, or Executive Master of Business Administration, is a high-level international programme offered by business or management schools. It attracts experienced managers and entrepreneurs from various backgrounds who wish to enhance their leadership skills to advance their companies or reach higher positions.
Rennes School of Business’s EMBA is ranked among the top 100 global EMBAs by the Financial Times, recognising its innovative content, engaging teaching methods, and personalised support for participants. According to its Director, Irena Descubes, “The greatest reward comes from the grateful testimonials of graduates who, thanks to the applied teachings of the EMBA, have been able to implement more coherent and sustainable strategies in their companies, prevent risks, and improve functional processes in an increasingly uncertain and complex interconnected context.”
More broadly, the school positions itself as a catalyst for knowledge and skills. Employees, senior executives, and project entrepreneurs come to acquire the managerial skills necessary to successfully carry out their professional projects. “The Executive MBA is a career springboard for progressing to higher responsibility positions, with strategic oversight and international scope,” says Aude Leclerc, EMBA Business Development Manager. “It is a diploma with strong international credibility, enabling entrepreneurs, executives, or start-up founders to consolidate their stance and skills to benefit from external growth, international development, and optimise their fund-raising from multiple investors.”
For several years now, Le Poool and Rennes School of Business have teamed up to offer entrepreneurs in the region very preferential rates for this EMBA, and the feedback from winners is unanimously positive!
“I come from the software development world and created my company, Inanix, in 2018. The Executive MBA at Rennes School of Business allowed me to acquire a lot of high-level knowledge related to team and company management. But above all, it gave me confidence and legitimised me in this position,” says Aurélien Tricault, winner in 2022.
“The Executive MBA at Rennes School of Business was an enriching experience that significantly enhanced my business culture and allowed me to build a solid theoretical foundation to support my role as a business leader,” says Lisa Ferrer, winner in 2021.
However, as Perrine Chapot, winner in 2022, explains, the EMBA requires a commitment of time and energy that is not trivial. “Even though we only have ‘just’ 2.5 days of classes per month and a group presentation on Saturday morning, the pace is quite intense. There is considerable personal work since we are required to submit a dossier each month depending on the subject matter. Whether it is international negotiation, a financial study, or discussing leadership, we must be able to argue each topic and especially find how to implement it within our company. Besides the courses, we are also required to complete a ‘Group Consulting Project’ and an ‘Individual Graduating Project.’ We have 10 months to prepare this! So yes, it is necessary to juggle this degree, work, and family life, but it is possible!”
Beyond the teachings, the richness of this programme also lies in the encounters made with other cohort members, as Lisa Ferrer explains. “The diversity of my colleagues’ professional and personal backgrounds created a fertile ground for exchanges and debates. The teachings and exchanges with my peers allowed me to explore new strategies, question my usual practices, and identify new development opportunities. I gained a more global and strategic vision, essential for seizing new market opportunities.”
